Peep and the Paperplane is the story about an uncommon friendship between the little sparrow Peep and a Paperplane. They have to team up in order to make Peep fly but sometimes even best friends fight. But true friendship always wins in the end.

Peep the chicken ventures out on an adventure into the Big Wide World and makes some friends along the way. Narrated by Peter Ustinov, this 1988 short film commissioned by the National Film Board of Canada comprises three short stories starring Peep the chicken, Quack the duck, and Chirp the Robin, and eventually served as the inspiration for an ongoing 2004 animated series.

Louis, a reclusive caretaker, who is kept up every night by wild sex in the apartment above him, is obsessed with making dioramas of ideal suburban scenes. His isolation is broken when Harry, his 10-year-old neighbour decides they must find him a wife. Renee, Louis' perfect match magically appears, and his lessons on how to talk to girls begins. When Louis is ready to take the plunge he musters up all his courage and follows Renee hoping to introduce himself. To his dismay, he realizes that Renee works at a Peep Show and is forced to battle his prejudices and fears in order to find the family he is longing for.
